Device Design
•The JPAK Posture Sensor Device will be designed to notify the user when he/she deviates from the neutral spine/neutral hip condition (or normal spinal curvature).
•The device will calculate the three primary spinal angles along the sagittal plane (cervical lordosis, thoracic kyphosis, and lumbar lordosis) to assess whether an individual has achieved normal spinal curvature.
•It will also determine deviation from the sagittal plane (along coronal plane) to notify the user of posture that can lead to scoliosis.
•The JPAK Posture Sensor Device will be designed solely as a preventative tool.

•Normally, there should be
virtually no angle between
each of the accelerometers in
the neutral spine / neutral hip
condition along the coronal plane.
•An angle of 10◦ or higher is
generally considered scoliosis.
